As people who love and respect Michael Jackson, we are well aware of the unfair and biased media treatment he endured throughout his lifetime. The lies, innuendo, and gossip surrounding Michael have continued to taint his name and legacy even after he left us. There is an effort underway to convince the California legislature of the need to protect the rights of citizens after they have passed on.

A team of concerned people from all parts of the United States are involved in the project. There is a great deal of work to be done. People are working on our website/blogspot, working on research, using Twitter and Facebook to share news about the project, writing letters and documents, and making face-to-face contacts with key individuals. A petition is in circulation to gather signatures of people who support the notion that the deceased continue to have a reputation that needs to be protected and respected.

What is needed right now are people who live in California to lobby their Senators and Assembly Members to author a bill making it illegal to defame a deceased person. People in California are needed to gather petition signatures of citizens of the State of California, to be presented to the State Legislature.

An article demonstrating the need for this legislation, and detailing how this initiative began is found at:

If you are a resident of the state of California, and would be willing
to become involved in the ground work for the lobbying of the “California Anti-Defamation Legacy Law” (cadeflaw) campaign, please give us a tweet at @cadeflaw; contact us through our facebook page or email us at cadeflaw_group@yahoo.com
