California Legacy Anti-Defamation Law - CA Constitution (Article of Declaration)

CALIFORNIA CONSTITUTION

ARTICLE 1  DECLARATION OF RIGHTS
SECTION 1.  All people are by nature free and independent and have
inalienable rights.  Among these are enjoying and defending life and liberty,
acquiring, possessing, and protecting property, and pursuing and obtaining
safety, happiness, and privacy.

ARTICLE 1  DECLARATION OF RIGHTS
SEC. 2.  (a) Every person may freely speak, write and publish his or her
sentiments on all subjects, being responsible for the abuse of this right
A law may not restrain or abridge liberty of speech or press.

Therefore, offenders should be liable and should be required to give account for their personal thoughts, views, or attitudes; especially those based mainly upon emotion instead of reason or knowledge.

Any or all opinions formed outside of a person’s civil right (that which is good or proper and conforms to fact or truth) should be considered as abusive (harmful or offensive) causing interference with their enjoyment, happiness and privacy of life and inalienable rights.

We petition the government of California to redress these wrong doings and make the proper corrections.

As people who love and respect Michael Jackson, we are well aware of the unfair and biased media treatment he endured throughout his lifetime. The lies, innuendo, and gossip surrounding Michael have continued to taint his name and legacy even after he left us. There is an effort underway to convince the California legislature of the need to protect the rights of citizens after they have passed on.

A team of concerned people from all parts of the United States are involved in the project. There is a great deal of work to be done. People are working on our website/blogspot, working on research, using Twitter and Facebook to share news about the project, writing letters and documents, and making face-to-face contacts with key individuals. A petition is in circulation to gather signatures of people who support the notion that the deceased continue to have a reputation that needs to be protected and respected.

What is needed right now are people who live in California to lobby their Senators and Assembly Members to author a bill making it illegal to defame a deceased person. People in California are needed to gather petition signatures of citizens of the State of California, to be presented to the State Legislature.

An article demonstrating the need for this legislation, and detailing how this initiative began is found at:

Will You Be There?

Welcome to the LMAFMJ Blog Site

Where there is LOVE, I'll be there . . . Nothing's real, but all is possible if God is on my side When I'm with you I am in the light where I cannot be found It's as though I am standing in the place called Hallowed Ground.
Lyrics from Speechless

We are a passionate group who will lovingly work towards our goal of vindication and advocacy for the defamation/slander of those who are deceased using Michael Jackson as a foundation. We believe that the "Legacy" of those deceased lives on and should be honored. With these goals comes a special responsibility to stand up for what is right; stand up for Michael and be his voice through ACTION.

We would like to attract other like-minded serious contributors. We encourage innovative ideas. Out of respect for Michael Jackson and each other, we are interested in this site remaining well-mannered for all dedicated contributors and positive points of view which further this goal.
