Words are powerful, and leave their effects long after they have been uttered. It is reprehensible to continue to damage a person's REPUTATION by promoting rumor, innuendo, gossip and sensationalism as fact; after a person is deceased and can no longer speak or protect themselves. We are the VOICES behind the Cadeflaw. We will no longer passively accept the disrespectful and cruel assassination of those deceased. Freedom of speech is a right that we all enjoy, but with it comes responsibility and accountability. We each have a duty to be honest, fair and balanced in what we say or write and should be prepared to present proof. Out of the mouths of two or three witnesses LET every word be established; and let those witnesses be credible. Join us while we lobby for a bill that will "Protect and Preserve" the Legacy of the Deceased. Let's "Make That Change". Thank You.

At the above facebook link you will find a copy of the letter sent to "Save The Children's Charity" by Deborah Longshaw, coordinator for "Holding Hands for Michael Jackson Guinness World Record Attempt".

A couple of excerpts from Deborah's letter to Save the Children:

"My fellow team members and myself thought it would be a good idea to link the World Record Attempt with a Charity and at the same time raise some valuable funds. Since we are hopefully going to be having near 30,000 fans pass through our doors."

"The one thing that divided Michael from other stars in the Entertainment Industry was that he used his money to help others rather than to keep it for himself; which explains why his entire $200+ Million earnings for the Dangerous Tour WENT TO CHARITY. That’s 70+ concerts in jam packed stadiums in the world which he performed with blood, sweat and tears absolutely FREE because all earnings went to charity. Same with his Victory Tour earnings - countless hours of hard work he did for FREE to help others making up his total charitable contributions to $350 Million USD- the largest ever for an entertainer in History."

You may read the remainder of her letter at the above facebook site. NOW read the response from the "Save the Children" representative. Her name was left off to protect her identity, on this site. Her actual name can be viewed on Ms. Longshaw's site. I can't imagine the heartache Deborah must still be experiencing after having received such a letter from this organization. Of course she was expecting a letter of excitement about the event. I can tell you how  I, personally, felt. I couldn't believe this representative could actually send a response of this nature. But guess what? She was being honest and I certainly can't blame her for that; and as mad as I would like to be, I'm not. The truth doesn't feel good and it's not suppose to.

This letter is just one more piece of evidence that proves this cause is not one we pursue in vain. Michael was found to be "Innocent" on all charges, including the 1993 allegations. But because of the "Negative Press" surrounding him during and after the 2005 trial the stain of the allegations remain. However, the stain only remain in the mind's and heart's of those who choose to believe the worst about him.

Can anyone explain to me what she means by: "As a children's charity, we have to be extremely careful about who we associate ourselves with. However kind and generous Michael Jackson was, we cannot risk damaging our reputation by being linked with that negative press which was unfortunately part of his life?" That's okay I know what she mean. The letter is very clear. No hidden clues to look for.

I wonder how much of Michael's monetary donations were rejected by charitable organizations after the 1993 allegation? I won't let that curiosity become a part of this mission by allowing it to turn me into someone I don't intend to be. This letter was posted to prove a point. We need the "Anti-Defamation Legacy Law". There are plenty of negative letters, articles, post, etc out there and they are not hard to find. This has to stop.

How do you think Michael's three children, his parents, siblings, friends are going to feel when they read this letter. It's on the Internet and it will be read by someone closely associated with the family or even by a family member. And please don't ask US, the crazed fans,  how we feel. We're called "crazed" because we care.

We should be able to protect the legacy of the dead, whose legacy demands protecting. Please don't allow groups to slander Michael Jackson or others in death to benefit themselves. Be COUNTED among those who helped to protect the legacy of those deceased.  Those left behind can still be hurt. Support #CADefLaw. Help us convince the California Legislators to author this bill by making corrections to the wrongs that have been done.

Join us in the "Letter Writing Campaign" and together we can make a difference. We've been writing letters to different organizations since Michael passed about this very same thing. They don't care about defaming his name or anyone else's name because there is no cause of action in many states for the families against the offenders.

Letter Writing Campaign To CA Senators/Assemblymen

Dear Friends: Please join the CADEFLAW Group in a letter writing campaign to the California Legislators as we request them to author a bill that would make it unlawful to defame a person who is deceased. Slander and Libel are not protected expressions of speech under the "First Amendment" while a person is living. The same protection should be extended to a person after they are deceased. The loved ones of someone who has passed on should not have to live with the continued defamatory stories that can so easily be paraded as fact. This EVENT will be on going until a California Legislator Senator decides to take on this bill or we employ a constitutional lawyer to assist us with this task; whichever comes first. If you agree with the idea that the "Legacy" of those deceased should be protected please sign the petition and send letters to the California Legislators. CALIFORNIA CONSTITUTION

ARTICLE 1  DECLARATION OF RIGHTS 

SECTION 1.  All people are by nature free and independent and have
inalienable rights.  Among these are enjoying and defending life and liberty,
acquiring, possessing, and protecting property, and pursuing and obtaining
safety, happiness, and privacy.



ARTICLE 1  DECLARATION OF RIGHTS 
SEC. 2.  (a) Every person may freely speak, write and publish his or her
sentiments on all subjects, being responsible for the abuse of this right. 
A law may not restrain or abridge liberty of speech or press.

Therefore, offenders should be liable and should be required to give account for their personal thoughts, views, or attitudes; especially those based mainly upon emotion instead of reason or knowledge.

Any or all opinions formed outside of a person’s civil right (that which is good or proper and conforms to fact or truth) should be considered as abusive (harmful or offensive) causing interference with their enjoyment, happiness and privacy of life and inalienable rights.

We petition the government of California to redress these wrong doings and make the proper corrections.
